Trying...SC187

Update: Here it is...finally! Okay, I had thought it would be fun to use a photo for the background of this one, so as far as stamping goes, there was minimal; sponging the edges and stamping the sentiment. It turned out fun.! :) I also had to adjust the #4 piece so that it didn't cover the faces...is that cheating? :) I had another photo or two I couldn't decide between to use, so wait and see and I will post more.

What do you think? Simple card, but I like...but then I am biased to the kids in the pic. :) (The pic is from summer two years ago.)

Try #2 Love of a Lifetime (This time I didn't "cheat" the size of #4)
I like how the sparkles on the velum remind me of fireflies out at night. :)

Okay, last one...I think. I'm having too much fun with this sketch! This (below) is a pic of the grand Tetons in ID when we were up there a few yrs ago for a fam reunion. I miss the mtns! Do you like this one Mom?
Original post:
I've been trying to start working on yesterday's sketch Challenge (SC187). This is the sketch. Hopefully I will be able to start it tonight after piano and after bday festivities for my daughter and will post tomorrow am...

Anyone want to play along with me that doesn't usually do these challenges? If so, make a card and email it to me and I will post it on here as well. :) It doesn't even have to be stamped. If you scrapbk, but don't stamp, you can just use designer paper and then, if you want a sentiment or a word, just print it on your computer.

Look tomorrow for updates. :)

Birthday Pearls

This was another color challenge, although it was from the week before last on splitcoast. It was CC175 Amost Wild Saffron. It was a very strange color combination for me to put together-did I pull it off? Not so sure about the placement of the pearls still either????? Thoughts?

(It's kinda hard to see the heart on the almost amethyst-it's embossed in white on there.)

Blushing Birdie CC177

This was color challenge (CC177) "Groovy White Sands". You are to use the colors: groovy guava (or cameo coral_, whisper white, and sahara sand. I didn't have the sahara sand, so I subbed the closest I had to it. it didn't quite turn out how I envisioned it and I messed up the bottom stamps, but then it was midnight...so I stopped. Oh well, there are better days than others. :)

TFL!

TLC179 Blast off

Check me out! I'm on a roll!

I thought I would look up the color challenge for today on splitcoast and thought, why not try the technique challenge as well. So, I started off with the technique challenge, which was Blintz Base; to fold a double sided DP this way.

I really like this card, my fav in awhile. :)It was fun to make too!!!

The eyelets are red-I thought my lighting was better than it apparently was. Sorry.

Congrats J!

A friend of mine had her baby yesterday, so another friend and I (S) made this chocolate bouquet or rosebuds to take to her. S showed me how and I think it turned out pretty good! I had never made these before, but it was easy and fun to put together. (The buds are hershey's kisses wrapped in cellophane). And of course we had to add something stamped. :)

Yeah! A challenge!

I was so excited to actually get to do a challenge again! It's been awhile!

I actually combined two challenges from Splitcoast from this past week...The color challenge CC176 and the sketch challenge SC186. The colors to use were very vanilla, river rock, and soft sky (although I had to substitute the soft sky for the closest I had.) And the pic to the right was the sketch we were to use.

I'd love to hear what you think! Thanks for looking!

More prega-bella

I really do LOVE this prega-bella stamp and right now I know sooo many pregnant women, so I thought I would make another card. I think I like this one better???? Not sure-they are so different from each other. This one took me FOREVER to do though. I just couldn't get it...right. No mojo last night. Hopefully it will be back soon. :)

Finally...

a reason that demanded me to stamp! :)A friend was having a baby shower today and can you believe I was out of cards?!!! I've given lots away lately, which I love doing, but I need to spend some serious time making more again soon. I got to sit and make one this morning... :) I love this Bella stamp! the card didn't come out as well as I wanted, but it's okay. i'd prob give it a 5 or 6? out of ten?? What's your vote?\

More next week...have a great weekend!

Coming soon...

Well, we are back from our cousins camp, but I am still unpacking and cleaning and organizing and doing laundry and, and, and...

Basically this translates into no stamp time yet. My DH did however finish building and painting some new shelves for my stamping corner in my room when I was gone. After I get them straight, I'll show them to you. Wahoo! How lucky am I?!! :)

Maybe later this week I'll find some time to post new creations... if not, next week for sure.

Thanks for your patience! :)

Kid's bday card

This is a very simple card that I made for my son's friend for his bday. I am not sure I like it. I think it needs some tweaking. I'll have to play with the design more when I get back from Cousins Camp. I wanted to keep it simple though, b/c frankly, I doubt that an 8 yr old boy cares that much. :)

Stamped bag of cookies

Here is a very simple way to "dress up" some goodies. We wanted to say thank you to a family we know for giving us tickets to go see the Brazos Valley Bombers (baseball game), so I stamped directly onto this white paper bag and we filled it with cookies. Very quick and easy and I think it's cute. :)

My kids and I will be heading out this wee to Cousins Camp, so I won't have many posts. One more this week and that's it until next week! Have a good one!

Christmas in July

Here's a quick "Christmas in July" card I made. Very simple, although I like the way it turned out. I like the small tough of rhinestones too-in the middle of the snowflake and at the bottom. The white strip across the bottom, I added a textured look with the sage shadow ink by wadding up some saran wrap and using it to stamp on the white. I think I may make some more Christmas cards this month-nice change of pace and it's always easier now than during th crazy times at Christmas.

Happy July! )

One Sheet Wonders (OSW)

One Sheet Wonders are where you take one sheet of 12x12 designer paper and cut it and use it to make 12-or is it 14? different cards. (along with other solid colored cardstock). They are typically designed fairly simply and are fast to put together. We made them at a past club mtg. I think they turned out cute and would look so cute all together wrapped with ribbon to give to someone as a cute little set of all occasion cards.

Since this was through a club mtg, we each only used half of the 12x12, so we made 7 cards each, I also added small embellishments to mine at home-like the pearls...

Here is the diagram of how you would cut the 12x12 designer paper: And then, here are the cards pictured individually of how they came out. Minimal stamping,s o fast and easy! AND they are also great when you don't have a lot of stamps to use as focal points. Another suggestion that our stamo demonstrator (S) had, was to leave them blank (of stamps) and then you can just pull them out and stamp them real quick for whatever occasion you want when you need a quick card. :)

Thanks again S!

Card Tin

I altered this tin for a friend for her bday and filled it with pre-made cards for her. Another friend of mine also added a bunch of cute cards, so it was FULL when we gave it to her. I think she liked... :)

I haven't ever made the dividers, but this time thought I would try that as well. So I stamped some to match the outside. I think it turned out pretty good.

I also added some extra blank tabs if she ever wanted to add more categories and and per my sis-in-law's suggestion (TKS!) I added a category of car sketches/layouts as well to help her when she wants to make her own cards. Made a matching card too. :)

Stamp Club Catch Up

I am behind on posting our stamp club projects. The above picture was one I couldn't find from a previous month. We got to learn a new technique with this card. We embossed and then bleached the image inside the embossing. It was fun. Tip: Don't leave the paintbrush sitting in bleach. The brushes will...get eaten away...disintegrate. LOL Since that night, my friend has suggested using the bleach pens to make it easier. I'll have to try that.

The below pictures are from our stamp club night this past month in June. The first is a post it pad holder we made out of an acrylic photo frame.
Next, we got to make some more cards...one being an acetate card (fun to try for the first time!) On this one, we also took saran wrap and crinkled it up, then inked it and stamped it-to create a different textured look for the background of the paper. The other two were fun as well and turned out so cute.

I still have another month of club projects to post. I'll do that another day later this week. It involved One Sheet Wonders-which were so easy and quick and turned out really cute too! Happy 4th!
