I don't know about you, but we woke up to frost on the ground this past weekend. We have been loving this crisp autumn weather and hate to see it end. At the same time my kids are ancy for some upcoming sledding weather too! BUT...you know what that means, right? You don't want to be without the support your body needs. Time to get ready with some supplements and healthy living!

If you have followed me even a little bit, you know that our family tries hard to stay healthy; both inside and out. What you put into your body greatly affects you immune support system and your health, which in turn affects your mental clarity and your body functioning properly.

So with the visit from Jack Frost, I started thinking about how I can help my family stay healthy and keep their bodies strong and ready to combat any germs that head our way. So I came up with a 5 step plan for our family to keep us healthy and strong during this season. Then I headed over to my great friend-of-a-store that never lets me down, our local Walmart to get started.

Here is the 5 step plan I came up with:

Heavenly and Healthy Melt in your Mouth Waffles; GF and White refined Sugar Free {Recipe}

I keep promising to share these scrumptious "Melt in your mouth Waffles" and my family keeps eating them all before I can get a picture of one of them! haha

If you have ever tried any GF recipes, it's hard to find ones that are similar to what you are used to having with your "regular" flours. Me? I typically have about 8 different kinds of flour in my house on a regular basis. Over the last couple of years and some experimenting, I am finally happily satisfied (as is my family!) with this recipe! Soooo good and you won't even know it's GF!

How to Paint MDF Wood Projects {Tutorial}

Have you ever tried to paint MDF wood? MDF is great for being a cheaper option for wood projects, but it soaks up paint like crazy! Because of that, it is very hard to get the paint job looking great. You find yourself painting coat after coat after coat of paint! And still are not satisfied with the outcome!

Well, I have the answer for you! And it's really soooo very simple!

Creamy Cauliflower Bacon Soup Recipe

#recipe #recipeoftheday #healthyliving #cleaneating

I have seen so many people use cauliflower for things you would never have thought to try a few years ago...pizza crust for one, and have you seen that picture of a slow roasted head of cauliflower? NEVER would have thought to do that! And it looks so good!!

Well, my husband can't eat broccoli anymore (food sensitivities/allergies) and loves creamy broccoli cheese soup. We also love a good creamy potato soup, but so much starch there!

So I decided to try making a healthier creamy soup with cauliflower. IT.WAS.AWESOME! My 15 year old had FOUR helpings kind of awesome! It even tasted cheesy, but had no cheese in it.

I thought it perfect to share for this super cold weather we have had this week and are expecting more of. There are really minimal ingredients too. So, here you go.

Olaf's Mug {Frozen Inspired}

#diy #frozeninspired #olaf #mug #winter #holidaytreat #hotchocolate

My 3 and 4 year old girls have a very affectionate relationship with Olaf...to say the least! haha He is very loved at our house. My 3 year old gets up in your space, about an inch from you face, and whipsers, "Olaf likes warm hugs". She does this often and out of the blue. It cracks me up!

The other day, my daughter totally all on her own, came up with the thought,"Mom! We should make an Olaf mug!" And with the freezing (Brrrr!) temperatures we have this week, it was perfect to make! So we did!

Bwahaha Get it? It's Olaf's mug. bwahaha)

May the Chores be with You {Chore Chart} for Kids

#chores #chorechart #appropriatejobsforkids #teachresponsibility

Happy Monday! Are you ready for today and this week? Does your house get destroyed every weekend with your kids home? haha Well, I have the post for you today!

Last week, my son texted me from school and asked me to bring some homework up to him at school that he had left on the kitchen table. Hmmm...

I love being a stay at home mom, and am so thankful that I CAN do this kind of thing for him. BUT, at the same time, I also want to help him learn. Since this is the third or fourth time already this fall, that this has happened...I made a quick change. I said sure, but you'll owe me a chore or $5. Not to say really that he OWES me, but I wanted him to know that my time is also valuable, and that I don't just sit at home with nothing to do. I want him to know what it takes for me to stop what I am doing, find the HW, gather the little ones at home with me together, buckle them in the car, drive up to the school, take them all in with me and the HW...you get the picture.

My husband and I even think it would be good for the kids to do everything that I do (like above) sometime (Well, not actually have THEM drive! lol) to see how much effort and time it actually takes to do this.

Anyway...he didn't think I was serious (apparently) but agreed. Later after he got home I reminded him and he laughed saying. "You're serious?" I smiled, and said, "yes." I just asked him to change out a couple of lightbulbs that are up high (and that he can reach more easily than me) and he laughed a bit later and said, "I don't think I will be forgetting things as much." Good kid.

And seems to have worked as a great lesson...? We'll see, but at least I am trying and so is he. Love my kids. And I love them enough to take the time to help them learn. They each have chores.

What kind of chores do you have your kids do around your house? What age do you have them start?

How to Make Homemade Maple Syrup (Without a Maple tree haha) {Recipe}

I don't know about you, but I love the flavor in homemade maple syrup. If I had a maple tree and lived up NE (like my husband's aunt and uncle), I would definitely tap those maple trees (Yep! They do that!). But...I don't.

So...this is the best I can do! And it's sooooo easy! (Yes it is still full of sugar, but at least you know that is ALL that is in there. No preservatives or extra words you can't pronounce. No High Fructose Corn Syrup, and it's also about moderation. This is an occasional treat. I DO want to try this with some coconut palm sugar soon though and see how it comes out.)

To make your own maple syrup, all you need are three ingredients:

Top 10 Perfect Mini Pumpkin Place Settings for Thanksgiving Dinner

I don't know about you, but I already have a ton of things "on my plate" to get ready before Thanksgiving, so while I LOVE place settings at the table, I also don't want to spend a ton of time on them. I love the bright colors of mini pumpkins and how festive they are as well as the elegant look of the mini white pumpkins. This makes mini pumpkins PERFECT for Thanksgiving dinner place settings! So I've compiled 10 perfect place setting ideas using these cute and classy mini pumpkins. Most of them are so easy, all you need to do is gather a paper and pen, or a sharpie or even print the name!

An Aggie Owned Longhorn; and A Welding Hobby

It's a wet rainy day here today in NW Arkansas! But I'm not minding it. (Except that means goodbye to more colors in the trees.)  I love getting cozy and warm inside with a cup of hot wassail while it's raining outside. What's your favorite rainy day activity?

Today's post is a perfect example of a great rainy day activity. Years ago, even before we were married...my husband used to have fun playing around with a bit of welding. He sold his welder one year though and hasn't done it since. UNTIL...recently when he started back up again. I love seeing his creations come to life from just a piece of metal. He designs and comes up with them all himself and wants them kept simple. I love it!

Keep reading to see more!
