This end-of-the-school-year period of time always kills me! Need more time AND sleep! Less posts. More running around. Less sleep. More housework lately. BUT...tutorial is ALMOST ready! Soon...

Every step...

A month or two ago, I asked for some help on our FB site. I had a customer order this saying to put on her stairs and I thought it was soooo cute! I wanted to offer it to others too, BUT I don't have any stairs to show it on, so I asked if anyone was willing to apply it and give me pics of it in exchange for the vinyl for free. Thanks to Michele I got my first set of pics (and will have more coming in other colors!).

I love it and so does she! Yeah! It's a Win-Win!

Makes me want stairs! haha So look for it next week in the etsy shop and check back to see more pics of other colors!

Who's got a Birthday?!

A fun and simple platter to share today.
So fun to keep in the house to be used on those special days. Whether you use it for a regular plate or to put a cake on...it'll be a hit! Vinyl is cast vinyl, so can go through the dishwasher and still hold up. Can also be put on a regular sized plate too or made for other special days. My kids are already counting the days until it's their turn to use it! :)

Chalkboard Plates! in Place Setting Placemats

How absolutely, positively FUN are these placemats?!!!

We LOVE them!
Adorable AND functional placemats! Made from adhesive backed vinyl for the silverware and multi colored cups and CHALKBOARD VINYL for the plate! Can be applied directly to the table OR onto smooth placemats.

Not only do they work as placemats (and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth), but also as name tags, keeping kids busy while you are getting the last few things on the table, drawing anytime during the day, fun little notes to your kids in the mornings, helps kids know how to set the table...I could go on and on!!! Love the look too! Almost a retro/diner look with the kind of placemats I applied them too. (WHICH I got two for a dollar at a dollar store! SCORE!)

So so fun! I can't stop looking at them! ha!
(Coming to my Etsy shop SOON! If you want them before then, just email me at createitgo@gmail.com)

Teacher Appreciation

I don't know about you, but Teacher Appreciation always seems to sneak up on me each year. It is already in end-of-the-(school)year-busy mode at our house and then soon after we also do end of the year gifts for teachers. I love these because they would work for either of those! Actually they would work for beginning of the year too...anytime and really great for anyone, not just teachers.

I mentioned earlier that I found these great tubes at a dollar store. I added an apply with a flourish that I found in the SIL store and a thank you. So fast and easy! Then I just cut out various quotes and chalkboard labels and did some even in school colors. I rolled them up, along with vinyl of each teacher's name too, and stuffed them in the tubes with a thank you card. SO easy! AND I am hoping the teachers liked. We could personalize them somewhat to what they taught (music teacher) and to their personalities. This way, they can also take them home or have them in the classroom and can apply them where they want. I included instructions for applying vinyl too.
What is your favorite uplifting quote you would give a teacher? OR, as a teacher, what is one you would like? I always love hearing more quotes! And I DO sooooo appreciate our teachers!

Creating Curb Appeal

No From this to that Friday this week. I am in the middle of a few projects that will make it here, but not there yet! So here are a few little things I have done lately instead.

Working on curb appeal since our house is getting ready to be listed. I took the "hello" and shrunk it and stuck it on my flower pot on the front porch. I love the way it looks. It really dresses it up. This is a great option if you are renting or don't want it on the door. Super cute!

(I also took all of my flower pots that were orange, green, and tan and painted them all this bronzey color. Love the look now. Different shaped pots, but all coordinated in color. I have several more on a plant stand, that I plan to post soon.)

These other pics aren't about curb appeal, but thought I would share. I have wanted to give vinyl as a gift before...not applied to anything, but how do you wrap that? Doesn't look too exciting getting an envelope. lol  BUT...I found these tubes at a dollar store and thought, hey! That would work great! So...I bought them out. haha

This one was for a soon to be bride, so I added their new monogram on the outside and put several vinyl pieces inside (including more monograms).

For that price, it's cheaper to even use them as mailing tubes. lol

And for this last one...it's a sneak peak! Bet you can't guess what I am doing with this chipboard and some washi tape...nope, it's not for papercrafing!
Come back next week to see what I do with it and other projects I'll be finishing up! Plus I'll be posting teacher appreciation gifts soon that I made (that will work as End of Year gifts as well)!

Happy Mother's Day and thanks to all you teachers out there that give so much!

Happy Mother's Day to me! {Early!}

I have been working on orders all day, but I took a little time out to make something that I have wanted for a long time now! Don't you just love?!

The platter is from Dollar Tree (in the wedding section). Quick and inexpensive! I love the look of it hanging on the door in my kitchen! Makes me smile! AND apparently I am not only a good Mom, but a GREAT one! lol

Vinyl will be in the etsy shop. :)

Happy Mother's Day to all you this weekend!

A Work in progress

Snagged this table and chairs dining set off of CL for a steal a few weeks ago. I had been looking for months for a good set that was either

A) in my budget and finished or
B) a good price and fairly easy to "finish"

Well, this one was "gold" to me! Needed minimal sanding...
Seats weren't even attached...just had old pillows in for stuffing...
So, I set to work, and my kids wanted to help! NO PROBLEM! lol
Started pulling out staples in the seats and removing the pillows and fabric. Let it sit in my living room for a couple weeks. (lol Can't always find the time when I want to.)
Then roughed it up a bit with sandpaper and...here it is a few weeks later. Still a work in progress, but getting there. Now, painted a glossy black and awaiting the fabric to come in the mail for the seats. Already have the cushions cut and ready too! Yeah!
I took a few pics along the way and will post a tutorial and tips I learned as I worked when I get the finished product done! It's getting there!

From this to That Friday; Placemats to Bags

What can you make with a placemat and some ribbon? Welcome to antoher From this to that Friday!

I saw these done a few years ago and still love them! They are great little gifts and fun for anyone!
From this:

 To That!
So so easy too! Great for little purses for little girls, scripture bags, or whatever you want!

All you do is take your ribbon (all in one long piece) and sew it all the way down one side, past the placement, loop it back and sew up the other side and loop back again and sew down when they meet. TTHEN, all that you have left is to fold the placemat in half and sew up the sides. And add some cute little flower or button. And you are done! It's that easy!
Views from the inside and bottom (above and below)
I love fast and easy projects! What else have you made with placemats? I would love to hear and get a collection of ideas going here!

See you next week! Have a great weekend everyone!

A Card and a Gift in One!

Need a card? How about a gift? Look no further! lol

I absolutely love this simple and still so pretty card! Love the uniqueness and love that it also doubles as a gift. The cluster of fabric rosettes, from a variety of felt and cotton fabrics are backed by felt and attached to elastic, which serves also as a bookmark. And such a pretty one at that!

UPDATE: I had also thought of this and forgot to post before, (Thanks for the reminder SouthPawCrafts!)
you can also use it as a baby's headband! Adorable at that too! :)

These would be great for Mother's Day coming up! But also great for any occasion. A great pick me up, gift with a book, anytime!
I so love these! Think I might need to make a tutorial for them soon! Hope you liked too!
