I'm excited to share these super fun and even pretty roses I made and put on top of some cupcakes today! They're impressive and don't take long at all to make! AND...you'll never guess what they're made with! NOT fondant! ;)
Here are the supplies/ingredients and steps to make these quick little cupcakes that impress everyone!
Make some cupcakes. You can use a box mix or your favorite recipe!
While they are baking and then cooling, you can mix up some frosting and then color it green.
Next take your coconut (or grass) and add a couple drops of green food coloring and a couple drops of water and shake together to turn your coconut green.
Then you can begin to make your roses from your Fruit by the Foot rolls.
(It's just like those fabric ones that you see people (like me!) make for little girls hairbows and clothes like seen here:)
You begin by unrolling the whole thing from the wrapper and liner.
I started at one end of the roll and started to form a little spiral with the Fruit by the foot "tape".
Then you start to fold the Fruit by the foot roll/tape over as you continue to go around and around. This creates more of the petal look.
Continue to do so until you have used all of the Fruit by the foot roll
and tuck the end under one side a bit.
Side and bottom view:
That's it! So fast and fun! And they look beautiful!
Now you're ready to assemble the cupcakes.
Frost the cupcake,
Add your "grass",
And top with your beautiful Fruit by the Foot ROSE!
Seriously! So simple and they look impressive, right?!
