I enjoyed taking the day off yesterday with my kiddos at home from school. I love when they're home (even though my house looks like a tornado went through it on these days), and honestly miss the summer days when they are all here all day EVERYDAY. BUT...at the same time, sometimes that structure is good when they are back at school and I can get the house picked back up, can run my errands, and can make some fun little gifts and projects like this cute Diaper and Rosette Wreath!
Last week I told you about the Grand Opening at a new Walmart Neighborhood Market near me at 808 W Walnut Street in Rogers, AR. I made sure I stopped in on the day that they opened. They had all kinds of fun samples and people there welcoming the community. I love that you can order online, and then go pick up (in a carline) at this store and am excited to give it a try!
One thing I needed to pick up while I was at the Grand Opening of this Walmart Neighborhood Market was a package of Huggies Diapers- Snug and Dry Ultra Super Pack.
(Keep reading to see how I transformed this box of Huggies diapers into a cute Diaper and Rosette Wreath.)
I found them right on the end aisle next to the "Mom's Solution Center" where they had all kinds of items that are specific to moms' and babies' needs. I love shopping at Walmart for Huggies Diapers, because only at Walmart am I able to find Huggies "Ultra" which is an improved value, and better product for Snug and Dry than any other retailer. After raising 5 children, I can honestly say that Huggies has been a favorite of ours. Between it's "Triple layer protection to stop leaks" and the fit, I love Huggies diapers!
This time, I wasn't picking up the diapers for one of my own children though. I was picking some up for a gift for a friend that will be having a baby soon. I picked up my package of Huggies Diapers- Snug and Dry Ultra Super Pack and was ready to get started on this fun gift idea!
I've seen so many cute Baby Diaper Cakes at baby showers, and was inspired as I thought how fun it be to make a diaper wreath to hang on the hospital door during their stay, OR to hang on the front door of their home to welcome them and their new baby home?! I'm loving the idea!
So today, I thought I would share a little tutorial with you on how to make this cute diaper wreath with Diaper Rosettes. (I have to say I never would have thought of making rosettes out of diapers 20 years ago! haha)
DIY Diaper Wreath Tutorial
{with Diaper Rosettes}
First thing you'll need is a wreath for your base. I used this flat 18 inch styrofoam wreath form.
I used size 1 Huggies diapers and started wrapping them individually around the wreath form and securing them with a thumbtack. (This will make it super easy to take apart for the mom-to-be, so that she can actually USE the Huggies Diapers later on her baby.)
Keep wrapping them around the wreath form, one at a time, layering the edges on the previous diaper.
It should look like this when you are done.
Then flip the wreath over, so that you don't see the back and all of those thumbtacks.
Grab some tulle, ribbon, or something similar to add a little more color and fun to your wreath. You can go with a neutral color or one that will be the baby's gender.
Start wrapping it around the wreath on top of the diapers, but make sure not to cover all of the diapers up...or what's the point of a diaper wreath, right? haha
Tie it at the top when you have gone all the way around.
I decided to also add one more fun item with this string of pom-poms. Love the whimsical look!
How to Make Diaper Rosettes
Then...you're ready to make your diaper rosettes! If you have ever made a ribbon, or a fabric one, it works the same way.
Take your diaper and open it up like below:
Fold the diaper in half length-wise.
Then start at one end, and start to twist and spiral the diaper around.
It's super easy and such a fun look with the diaper wreath instead of placing stuffed animals and other baby paraphernalia on the wreath. So whimsical and fun!
Make as many rosettes as you want. You can even cover the whole wreath in diaper rosettes if you want to!
Then I just grabbed a little adhesive tape and rolled it up on the back of the rosettes to adhere them to the wreath and added a bow on top!
They really are so cute!
The last thing I decided to add was just some small little cardstock triangles on a string across the center of the wreath. So festive and happy!
Love the way it came out and I'm so excited to surprise my friend and hang this on her door!
So, tell me what you think. I love to hear from you. Would you use the online shopping and car pick up option? Or do you like browsing through the store personally? I'm thinking I can save a lot of time with this option, especially when I already know what I need, like with these Huggies Diapers- Snug and Dry Ultra Super Pack.
