Happy Monday! Did you survive the Christmas clean up this past weekend? Ha! That always seems like the worst part. You work for weeks getting ready for the BIG day and then all of the sudden it is over, and what's left is the aftermath. I do have to say that I enjoy seeing all that we are blessed with IN that aftermath though. It's all about perspective I guess, isn't it? Well, today I'm excited to share something with you that you can use THIS weekend with your friends and family to help you ring in the New Years together! A fun New Year's Eve Countdown Game that you can just print out and hang up. So so easy! Plus I've got yummy snacks to share like this Cracker Barrel Cheese Tray and ways to save over $13 with Kraft! So...don't go anywhere!

I don't know about you, but we don't have a ton of family traditions associated with New Years. We do a couple of fun things like this one I shared here where we collect funny moments all year and sit down together and read them on New Years Eve and laugh and laugh. We also have a cheeseball and crackers most years, but this year I decided to switch it up a bit when I saw this yummy Cracker Barrel cheese tray at my local Walmart.

I loved all the different kinds of cheeses on the tray and thought it was the perfect touch to add to the snacks for our New Years Eve festivities as a family. Wholesome food and no stress prep! I threw in some crackers, cranberry soda (in fancy glasses that excited the kids! haha), and some traditional Black Eyed Peas and we're ready to go! PLUS with the Cracker Barrel cheese tray there's a cheese for everyone!

AND...I decided to start a new tradition this year, and made up this fun New Years Eve Countdown Game. It's going to be loads of fun with even more laughs and quality time spent together! I made it where it's super easy for you to print out and use with your family and friends too! In fact, you can even customize it so that it fits you.

New Years Eve Countdown Game
Supplies Needed:
All you'll really need is some white cardstock paper and something to hang it on. You can grab some string and just hang it from the string with clothespins, or punch holes in each countdown marker and hang it with the string...in front of a fireplace mantle, on a wall, anywhere that's visible and accessible works! For us, I grabbed this fun frame (that has wire strung across the inside of the frame) and decided to hang all of my countdown markers/tags here.
Instructions:
Print, Cut, and customize.
(Here is a link to a google doc where you can print out a bunch of these.
For personal use only.)

It's really that easy! Print out the countdown markers/tags and fill them out so that they fit your own family and friends. There is a space on each one to fill in a time to use that countdown marker. AND there is a white circle that you can put a number in for your countdown...10. 9. 8. etc. You can start the countdown at 10 or 5 or whatever you decide!

Then you flip the marker over and write down an activity to do for each tag. I've got a list of ideas below OR you can come up with some of you own favorites to include.

1. Play Charades
2. Backyard football
3. Make some party hats
4. Bake a dessert together
5. Face time with friends/family that couldn't be there.
6. Make a list of your top ten favorite or most memorable things you did this past year and share them aloud with everyone.
7. Play card games. (Optional: Incorporate spoons into the game for even more fun! It works for almost ANY game.)
8. Have a dance off!
9. Play some "minute-to-win-it" type games.
10. Make a list of goals for the new year.
You can make this an hourly countdown OR every half hour like I did. I decided to start our countdown at 7:00 pm and go to midnight, but if you have younger ones that won't stay up that late, change it up to fit your family. Start it at noon and go hourly until bedtime, or whatever fits your needs. Just fill in the time on each countdown marker as to when you want to have the card pulled and flipped over to see what activity you will do next!

This countdown to New Years game is perfect for everyone and will add loads of fun to your night! (without any stress and much prep!) Throw in that Cracker Barrel Cheese Tray, some crackers, some cranberry soda, and a few other snacks and you've got the whole night planned.

We always want to play a game on New Year's Eve, but struggle to find the right one in the moment. This looks like such a fun game, and can have a little bit of everything for everyone! Serving cheese and crackers is usually my go-to for a party. Finger foods make entertaining so much easier! (client)
