It's Friday and I'm excited to show you this week's From this to that Friday project!
Well, I don't know about you, but I have some favorites in my holiday decorations each year that I pull out of the attic...well, this is one of mine, BUT I was ready for a new spin with it.
We get this set out every year and with the 12 days leading up to Christmas, we pull one ornament out each day and hang it up. Then on Christmas eve, we pull out the holy family and hang them up last. I love reading from the Bible about the story of Christ's birth each night too. We read the account of the shepherds on the night we put up a shepherd, the account of the wisemen traveling when we put up the wisemen...It also makes a great gift for other friends and families and is fun to take and drop up anonymously at their door each night the 12 days before Christmas. (Another fun tradition of our family....)
Well, this set used to be displayed and hung on a branch turned tree. Love the rustic look of that still, but wanted something different this year.
I found this fun little metal stand at Hobby Lobby last year and thought it would be perfect for showcasing this nativity set! I LOVE it!!!
AND guess what?! You'd never know it, but the bulbs are PLASTIC! Yep! I got tired of broken bulbs (with 5 kids that's inevitable), so I found these great plastic bulbs that they sell at Hobby Lobby year round now. Best thing ever!
What's your favorite decoration that you pull out every holiday season? Do you ever change it up? Try it this year! Makes it feel brand new again!
And for those of you who are interested in making this as your own DIY project, here is the tutorial on how I made this set of Christmas bulbs.
