I've shared a few of our family's traditions lately during the holiday season and some of our favorite recipes too. I've saved one of the best to share with you today!

When I was growing up, many years my family would go caroling during the holidays. It was a special memory and a fun night that we shared with other friends. We would normally have a group of 3-4 families and we would all gather together at someone's home before we left. We would all bring some goodies, and then we would distribute all the misc. goodies to several plates, so that there was some of each kind of cookie, fudge, bread, etc. on every plate. Then we were ready to leave!

We'd go to other friends' homes and carol, and then leave them each with a plate of yumminess. What's not to love?! Even as a teenager, this night would leave me with a feeling of warmth. ( It didn't hurt that it was a social thing for me too, bc I got to be with friends. heehee) Now, that I have my own family, I have wanted to do this for years...AND this is the year! I am so excited and wanted to come up with a fun new cookie recipe to take as well.

I wanted a different type cookie that was good any time of the year, and just melted in your mouth! I also wanted a touch of the holiday spices in it. so this is what I came up with. And let me tell you...it came out exactly as I wanted! Soooo good that I want to share the recipe with you. (I bet you'll never guess the secret ingredient to making them so soft and moist too! KRAFT MIRACLE WHIP Dressing!)

Spiced Hazelnut Cookies with Chocolate Hazelnut Topping
Recipe

1 box spice cake mix of your choice
1/3 cup KRAFT MIRACLE WHIP Dressing
2 eggs
Liquid Hazelnut flavoring
4 1/2 tsp Chocolate Hazelnut spread for topping
Optional:
Additional spices that I added were:
1/2 tsp cinnamon
A dash of cloves and nutmeg

I started by dumping my cake mix in first...here's a little tip and behind the scenes laugh for you.
Use scissors when opening! Bwahaha

Mix all the ingredients together until smooth. It will be a thick sticky batter.

Scoop onto cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees under they are BARELY starting to crack on top. I baked mine for 8-9 minutes. Cool, and then add your chocolate hazelnut topping.

They are a super simple recipe, they look great, and they will be the only cookie like it wherever you take them. Sure to impress and please!

AND they make an  easy recipe for cookies to make with your kiddos or grandkids together and  leave out for Santa on Christmas Eve too! Just make sure that your kids don't get to them first! lol

Another quick tip: great place to shop is at your closest Walmart, because they are sure to have everything you need at one stop! That's where I picked up my 30 oz jar of Original KRAFT MIRACLE WHIP and all of my other ingredients needed to create this yummy recipe.
