DIY Temple Block Set Tutorial

A little over a year ago, I posted this super cute and fun Temple Block Set here. I had made it as a gift for my niece, and have since made several and even sold some. While, I am not selling them anymore, I have really enjoyed seeing others get excited about having one in their house as well. I know that I love seeing my kids play with it, and love seeing the reminder of the temple in our home. It is still one of my favorites and I still get asked about a tutorial for it. So...today's your lucky day! I'm posting a DIY tutorial on how you can also make one!

It's really pretty simple.

All you'll need is the following for your supplies:
One 2x4
One 2x6
White paint
and
Some Vinyl Cut outs or some stickers or paper of your choice for the accessories/decor.

You'll need to cut your 2x4 into a 3 different sized pieces:
4 3/4 in x 3 in
3 1/2 in x 3 in
1 1/2 in x 3 in (Top piece...coming to a point on one end)

Then cut your 2x6 into 3 different pieces that are:
8 in by x 1/2 in
6 1/2 in x 4 in

Obviously, you can make more than one set with just your one 2x4 and 2x6.

Sand your wood blocks and paint them white...and you're almost done!

Then take your vinyl cut outs and apply them like I did. If you don't have the vinyl or access to it, you can buy some online from someone willing to do custom orders, OR you can use some paintpens or some sticker lettering. Another option would be to stamp on it, OR to print something out and decoupage it onto the blocks. So, there are a lot of options out there, and at least one of those ideas should work for just about anyone! Ha!

So, there you have it. Not too hard, just a little cutting and painting!

Hope you have the perfect person in mind to make it for!
